1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him: Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
Commentary:
God’s emphasis is clearly on the actions of a man, his walk, not his talk. With the start of each day, we are told to share our love with one another and share the Gospel. One point to remember is that if we live our faith, we do not necessarily need to use words to tell others about Christ (2 Corinthians 4:7-10).
